What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is an outdoor activity that combines elements of treasure hunting, hiking, and technology. Using your phone’s GPS, navigate to the geocache location and start your search! Geocaches come in all shapes, sizes, and types — and some may be more cleverly deceptive than you can even imagine. With over 3 million caches hidden around the world, there are endless opportunities for outdoor fun and adventure!

How to Play

Choose a cache

Use the Geocaching® app map to see caches near you.

Navigate to the cache

Head outside, and use the in-app navigation to locate the cache.

Start your search

Read the description and the hint for clues. Remember, geocaches come in all shapes and sizes and can be cleverly hidden!

Log your find

Sign your username and place the container back where you found it. Log your find in the app to see your find count increase!
